Groups3
2006-10-04

So, we've released a new version of Google Groups today, available over at groups-beta.google.com. This release sports a new look, with more of a separation between the Search aspect of the service, and the actual Groups themselves. And, it brings to the plate a feature that was meant to make it into the new version 2 years ago, but didn't make the cut: a wiki per group. We call it Pages, to be consistent with Google Page Creator (with whom we share the editor), and also to be less "techy" (though Wiki has definitely gotten more mindshare in the past year, mostly through Wikipedia).

There's still more to come, so stay tuned over the next several months.

The new beta exists in parallel with the existing service, but eventually it will replace the existing interface. So, if you have any concerns, please let us know over at Google Groups Guide.
